Sidley Austin LLP announced yesterday that it has added three partners to the firm’s labor and employment practice. Douglas R. Hart, Jennifer B. Zargarof and Geoffrey D. DeBoskey are based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, where they will focus on employment litigation, counseling and traditional labor work with an emphasis on wage and hour and employment discrimination class action litigation.

Mr. Hart has been practicing for more than 25 years and is one of the leading wage and hour class action litigators in the country, representing several Fortune 100 companies. He handles all types of employment-related class action lawsuits on behalf of employers, including pay practice, disparate impact and intentional discrimination cases and pension plan cases. He also negotiates collective bargaining agreements and advises employers on labor relation issues and strategies. Mr. Hart has significant experience with the retail, financial services, insurance, healthcare and construction industries. Mr. Hart also is currently lead counsel on significant employment class action appeals pending before the California Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ms. Zargarof advocates for employers in a broad range of disputes, with a focus on class actions and other multi-plaintiff litigation. She defends companies in wage and hour, discrimination, wrongful termination and other employment-related matters at the trial and appellate levels. Ms. Zargarof also counsels employers on the full array of personnel policies and procedures, employee discipline matters, employment contracts, and wage and hour issues. She serves clients across numerous industries, including retail, transportation, healthcare and financial services.
