Pit Bull Accused of Biting Pop Singer Beats the Rap

MILFORD, Pa. - A judge in northeastern Pennsylvania has ruled that a pit bull accused of biting pop singer Vanessa Carlton can return home if its owner installs a fence. Ben Teichberg's dog Bella had been removed from his home after the alleged incident May 2. Carlton testified Wednesday that she had been jogging past Teichberg's home in Shohola when Bella bit her. Carlton's parents live nearby. But a veterinarian said that marks from the gruesome wound did not match a mold of Bella's teeth. After a six-hour trial in Milford, District Justice Alan Cooper found Teichberg guilty of failure to confine his dog and assessed a $100 penalty. Carlton is best known for her 2002 hit "A Thousand Miles." ...
